BABYBE

Health-tech startup BABYBE created an incubator mattress that wirelessly transmitted a baby’s heartbeat, breathing patterns, and temperature to a pod held by parents, fostering emotional bonds in NICUs. I conducted qualitative product design and market fit research, targeting new and expectant parents outside of clinical settings, where barriers like long working hours and limited parental leave are common.

Medicare API Development

Medicare’s payment processing system relied on scraping green screens and batch updates for data, causing time and financial burden on patients and medical providers. As a researcher on a multi-year modernization project, I worked to develop a set of RESTful APIs to improve data processing speed and reliability, while avoiding overwhelming legacy systems with data requests.

City of Orlando

Orlando’s Digital Services team embarked on a project to build orlando.gov and create over 300 digital services for residents, migrating existing city services to more user-friendly, transparent, and efficient digital platforms, while ensuring that these services were easy for both residents and city employees to use. I led user research and testing, and co-facilitated the Digital Service Academy, during the city’s digital transformation.
